“So… What can I expect from the Boudoir By Afton experience?”
So glad you asked. A boudoir shoot can be involved to say the least! But rest assured I’m holding your hand the whole way. I’ll break it down into 3 easy parts: before the shoot, during, and after.
Before…
First, you’ll have to initiate. ;) I want to hear from you! I’ll suggest a phone call, but if you’d prefer email, we can do that. You and I will chat and get to know each other a bit. I’ll ask you my burning questions, you’ll ask me yours. We’ll talk intentions and vibes and then decide if we can create something beautiful together.
We’ll compare calendars like the busy bees we are and set a date. After that, I’ll send over a contract for you to sign. In order to secure your date, a non-refundable fee of $375 and a signing of your contract is required to hold your spot. More on your investment here, but the $375 covers session fees, professional retouching, and more. After that, it’s officially a date!
In the days or weeks leading up, you’ll fill out a detailed questionnaire so I can get to know you even better and tailor the shoot to you specifically. You’ll receive two comprehensive guides from me: a Shopping and Styling Guide as well as a What to Expect and How to Prepare Guide. These guides cover all the different outfit and idea options, where to shop some beautiful pieces, what to pack, and all the details of what to do and what not to do in the weeks, days, and even hours leading up to our start time. And so much more!
During…
Ahhh the day is here! I’m squealing, are you squealing?!
You’ll show up to the studio address I’ve provided for you and we’ll do our excited happy dance. If you’ve chosen hair and makeup, you’ll relax in the makeup chair while sipping some bubbly I’ve provided (if you like of course). We’ll go over the outfits and goodies you brought, play some jams, and get right to the fun part! We’ll shoot for roughly an hour and a half to two hours. I’ll guide you through every pose and will keep us on pace so as to get all of our looks in. We’ll take some dance breaks, some stretching breaks, and some snack breaks. And then sadly, it’ll be over before you know it. Trust me when I say- the time flies because it’s SO MUCH FUN. We’ll say our goodbyes and I’ll send you off to enjoy the rest of your day with some chocolate.
After…
Immediately after, I highly recommend giving yourself a big hug for Doing the Damn Thing. You’ll be feeling so irresistible, I promise you.
Before you leave, we will set up a date and time about 1 to 3 weeks after the shoot for your photo reveal. You’ll either come back to the studio or we can do it over Zoom. For the reveal, I’ll show you about 15 or so of my personal favorites, and then we’ll go back and look through them all. You’ll have roughly 70-80 lightly edited and retouched images (more on what that means here!) to select from and create your perfect package, from downloadable digitals, luxury albums, even wall art.
I will swiftly place the order for your products and they’ll typically take 3-4 weeks to come in. They’ll go through me for quality check first and then I’ll package them up specially for you. I’ll reach out when they’re ready and arrange pick up. If you’re coming from out of town, we can arrange mail delivery. We’ll say ciao with tears in our eyes, already missing it and looking forward to next time. You’ll be off to enjoy your beautiful photos and a new fond memory!
